In the sought-after residential area of Männedorf, with unobstructed views over Lake Zurich, an exceptional penthouse apartment has been created—captivating with its clarity, openness, and light-filled design.
The project unites timeless architectural language with innovative detailing at the highest level.
Architect Mario Müller from MO Architektur in Uznach planned the project with a great deal of sensitivity for context, spatial effect and atmosphere. The building structure encounters delicate constructions, allowing architecture and surroundings to enter into a quiet, powerful dialogue — clear in form, soft in effect.
A central element of this architectural language is the interplay of light, transparency, and openness. Frameless sliding windows by swissFineLine create an almost limitless connection between interior and exterior spaces. With corner glazing, the living area opens in two directions towards the stunning lake landscape—a panorama that, thanks to the delicate construction, appears to float.
The recessed frame solution allows interior and exterior areas to merge seamlessly. Wherever the spatial concept demanded it, transitions were created that dissolve classical room boundaries and elevate living into a new spatial lightness. This quality is further enhanced by an electromechanical locking system with ventilation gaps, enabling fine, controlled air circulation—for a consistently fresh indoor climate and maximum living comfort.
This exceptional living quality is the result of close, collaborative cooperation. From the beginning,
the exchange was characterized by mutual trust and a fine sense of quality and aesthetics. The high structural requirements were met with great flexibility and technical know-how—a collaboration that not only made the architectural ambition possible but tangible, emphasizes the architect.
This allowed key design wishes to be realized: especially the generously sized glass panels and the almost invisible transitions to the terrace, which redefine the relationship between indoor and outdoor space. What remains is a sense of spaciousness, tranquility, and clarity—carried by light and landscape.
“When the result works well, feels coherent, and makes the clients happy in the long term, we’ve achieved our goal.”
Mario Müller, MO Architektur
A goal that has been impressively realized in this penthouse apartment.
Because this is far more than a thoughtfully conceived spatial concept—it is a place where clarity, openness, and nature converge. Where architecture does not just shape but touches. Where modern living unfolds in its most beautiful form.
