In this architectural masterpiece, our oversized frameless sliding windows by swissFineLine play a pivotal role—literally and figuratively.
Nestled along the idyllic shores of Lake Murten and surrounded by the picturesque landscape of Mont-Vully, an extraordinary new build was completed in 2024: a single-family home that uniquely blends modern architecture, artisanal sophistication, and the power of panoramic views.
The centerpiece of the project lies on the upper floor, where two monumental glass installations, each measuring 7.2 meters in width, form a sliding glass front spanning 14.4 meters and nearly 38 square meters of glass. With the press of a button, the glass panels glide
effortlessly, appearing to float in motion. This exceptional scale dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior space, delivering unmatched transparency and panoramic views of the highest caliber.
Creating sliding elements of this magnitude requires engineering at the highest level. Specially developed guide systems, thermally optimized frame profiles, and near-silent operation—even with several hundred kilograms of glass—ensure a functionality as impressive as the design itself.
Here, technical precision meets uncompromising perfection—a synergy that may not be visible, but is certainly palpable.
The home’s architecture thrives on the dialogue between natural and rustic materials: hand-planed smoked oak, mineral-based Calcinite walls, and premium parquet flooring lend the interior a warm, authentic atmosphere. Our frameless sliding windows integrate seamlessly into this concept—with timeless design, precise engineering, clean lines, and the utmost transparency. The seemingly weightless glass surface becomes a silent stage for the spectacular lake view,
while also bringing light, openness, and an airy ambiance into the interior. These sliding windows are far more than just functional elements—their powerful presence and understated elegance define the character of the home, giving it a distinctive identity.
The result is more than just a window—it’s an architectural experience: a silent giant of glass that captures a mesmerizing panorama.
