Space for Openness – Where Architecture Meets Lightness

In this sought-after residential area on Lake Zurich, with unobstructed views of the mountain landscape, an extraordinary penthouse apartment has been created that captivates with its clean lines, open layout, and light-filled design.

The Attika combines timeless design with innovative detailing of the highest standard. Architect Mario Müller of MO Architektur in Uznach planned the project with a keen sensitivity to context, spatial impact and atmosphere. The building’s structure is complemented by delicate constructions, allowing the architecture and its surroundings to engage in a quiet, striking dialogue – clear in form, soft in effect.

A central element of this architectural language is the interplay of light and openness. Frameless sliding windows from swissFineLine create an almost boundless connection between

the interior and exterior spaces. A central element of this architectural language is the interplay of light, transparency, and openness. Frameless sliding windows by swissFineLine create an almost limitless connection between interior and exterior spaces. With corner glazing, the living area opens in two directions towards the stunning lake landscape—a panorama that, thanks to the delicate construction, appears to float.

“We chose swissFineLine because we wanted transparency, plenty of light and a view. The result has exceeded our expectations.”

An interview with the clients, the B. family

The recessed frame design allows interior and exterior surfaces to blend seamlessly into one another. Where the spatial concept called for it, transitions were created that dissolve traditional room boundaries and lend the living space a new sense of spatial lightness. This quality is complemented by an electromechanical closure with gap ventilation, which provides a subtle,

Controlled air circulation ensures a consistently fresh indoor climate and the highest level of living comfort. This exceptional quality of living is the result of a close and collaborative partnership. From the very beginning, our collaboration has been characterized by mutual trust and a keen sense of quality and aesthetics.

The demanding design requirements were met with a high degree of flexibility and technical expertise. It was precisely this collaboration that not only made the architectural vision possible but also brought it to life, the architect emphasizes.

The result is a quality of living that goes far beyond design: generous glass surfaces, seamless transitions, and unobstructed views, enhanced by light, the landscape, and a sense of lightness.

“When the result works well, feels coherent, and makes the clients happy in the long term, we’ve achieved our goal.”
